We ship by "ground" and are more than happy to help locate orders. Q: How can I care for my hosiery to make it last longer?
A: Nobody wants hosiery that does not last as long as we expect it to - especially us at On the Go. However, even high quality On the Go hosiery is somewhat fragile and proper cleaning and care is very important. Proper care of your hosiery increases the life of your hosiery.
Care Instructions
Make sure your hands are clean and free from anything that could snag your panty hose. Panty hose can be washed by hand or in the washing machine - if you follow these simple instructions. To wash panty hose by hand - use a mild detergent without chlorine bleach (bleach removes colors and weakens fibers) and carefully massage the hosiery between your hands. You may also wash your hosiery in the washing machine by turning the panty hose inside out and placing them in a pillowcase. Then wash on the gentle cycle (warm wash and cold rinse) using a mild detergent (without chlorine bleach). To dry, place each pair of pantyhose on a towel, gently roll it up and squeeze the towel gently. Do not hang hosiery to dry (it stretches) and never dry pantyhose in the dryer (it shrinks).
Q: What's the difference between Ultra Sheer Hosiery, Light Support, Day Sheer, Knee Highs, Tights, and Trouser Socks?
A: On the Go Hosiery comes in many varieties, styles, colors and sizes. The best place to start is to decide the primary use needed for your current pantyhose purchase ≠ is it business, formal or casual? All of our panty hose are appropriate for business and formal attire, and our knee highs, tights and trouser socks are typically best for casual dress. If the item says "Ultra Sheer" or "Sheer" then that style will be flattering to the legs and allow the most natural skin tone to show through (with a hint of the panty hose's color). If the item is "Control Top" then the hose will gently firm and flatten the stomach, hips and thighs to further enhance your appearance. Control Top is available in Ultra Sheer, Lycra, Light Support and Day Sheer in a wide variety of sizes and colors {hyperlink}. If the item contains Lycra then the hose are more elastic, a bit heavier, and typically longer lasting. Knee highs are the same as the "bottoms" of our ultra sheer panty hose only they cover the space from the knee to the toes. Trouser socks are typically worn with slacks and they come in an array of textures and colors. Finally, On the Go tights are the heaviest leg covering and they are more durable and warmer.
Q: What is the "correct" way to put on hosiery?
A: Take your time and follow these simple steps, and your hose will run less often and last much longer:
1. Remove all jewelry, check fingernails and toenails and file down any rough edges.
2. Roll each leg of the panty hose down and gently smooth one leg all the way up, and then repeat on the other leg.
3. Gently pull the rest of the panty hose up to your waist while smoothing the fabric to avoid bagging and twisting. Be careful not to pull too hard and stretch or run the panty hose!
Q: Where can I see a color chart for all of the On the Go styles?
A: On the Go's colors vary by style. Once you make your style selection there will be a color swatch next to the style showing that style's available colors. As seasons and fashions change we tend to add new colors and styles - so check back often! {hyperlink}
